Hey guys, welcome back. Today we’re going to review The Survival Tabs. The company sent me a couple of their flavors to try out here today. So here are the flavors that we have today. We have strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch. I think I want to try the vanilla today, it is gluten-free & non-gmo. This is their 45 th anniversary, made with all natural flavors and it’s made here in the USA. Best possible nutrition in the smallest possible volume. I think that’s what it is about these Survival Tabs, instead of carrying a block of ration food or cans of freeze dried foods. This is really small, carry it with you and put it in your pocket. So these are tablets you take every few hours and they have calories in them to keep you going. We’ll test them out today. This is what The Survival Tabs look like, little tablets and I would say they’re peppermint size, we’ll try them out. The taste is good, it’s now over powering. It has a hint of vanilla, kind of taste like a protein bar. It’s dry, it’s not chewy but honestly it‘s not bad at all. The Survival Tabs doesn’t taste like candy and I like the flavor it’s not super strong in your face vanilla. It leaves a good aftertaste in your mouth, it’s not chalky but the same time it’s not chewy. The tab kind of broke in my mouth when I was chewing on it but I would use these. These are good, I like them. I like the fact that they are smaller than carrying a ration bar, then carrying freeze dried foods. This little Survival Tabs packet here can last you 48 hours and it can even stretch out to 96 hours. I like that you can fold this in half, zip it back up, put it in your pocket and just go wherever you want to go. So you have minimum 2 days worth of food in your pocket and if you have 4 of these like I do you have 4 packets, you have a long time to survive. So here we’ll do a close up on it, this is what it looks like. It’s about the size of a peppermint, we’ll do a close up of me trying it out. It does have good flavor and I was worried about the vanilla. A lot of times candy tries to be vanilla it’s not good but this was good and I recommend this ! The Survival Tabs contain 100% of the U.S. RDA of 15 Essential Vitamins & Minerals. With most of the food, we eat 30%-60% of the calorie content leaves the body unused. SHELF LIFE AND SUSTAINABILITY
We have samples of The Survival Tabs that were produced in 1974-75. They have been stored at room temperature. We test them periodically and have found little if any, deterioration or loss of vitamin or food value. Our results showed negligible loss in these areas. Freezing temperatures will have no effect at all on these tablets. We would estimate the shelf-life for The Survival Tabs to be 25 years, but suggest rotating them to ensure maximum food value every 2-3 years.
