Family Camping Meal Guide

Family Camping Meal Guide
Family camping meals should be familiar, simple and safe for the campsite. Plan portions, allergies, children’s needs, refrigeration, water and cooking restrictions before departure.
Create a simple menu
Use repeatable breakfasts, portable lunches, one-pot dinners and no-cook backups. Assign adults the cooking, fuel and sanitation tasks.
Pack safely
Keep raw foods separate, use coolers and thermometers where needed, and refrigerate perishables promptly. Bring safe water for drinking, cooking and cleaning.
Manage fire and fuel
Check restrictions. Use stoves only as directed and outside appropriate shelters. Never allow children to handle fuel or operate equipment unsupervised.
Allergies and choking
Keep exact labels, safe alternatives and prescribed medication available. Choose age-appropriate foods and supervise young children.
Wildlife and cleanup
Store food and scented items according to local rules, clean the site and pack out waste. Compact foods such as Survival Tabs may be an adult-planned backup, not a substitute for family meals or child-specific guidance.
